Inventory & Materials Management The inventory & materials management modules are typically used to organize, monitor and coordinate the stocking and use of supplies and materials. This part of the Quantum solution interfaces the inventory file with the purchasing & requisition module. The Inventory module is a central component to automating systems in larger organizations such as hospital networks and distribution centers. Item Master File The inventory item master file contains a large amount of information about each of the items that are to be tracked. Items can be stored in a single or multiple warehouse locations. The system will track: 30 character item number 2 lines of description primary warehouse location reorder level and safety stock primary vendor average, last and standard cost storage area quantity on order from vendors quantity on hand usage and forecast information Multiple Warehouses & Purchasing cycles Users can define an unlimited number of supply warehouses to use in Quantum. The system tracks inventory information such as qty on hand and qty on order for each location and users (remote or local) can use and order/replenish items for each warehouse as needed. The system will track and report on the supply and inventory condition for all or each individual warehouse. Purchase requisitions can be entered remotely or centrally and are reviewed by a designated purchasing manager before being printed and sent to the vendor. Quantum keeps track of each item's primary vendor that it is purchased from. The system will also allow users to select substitute items if the primary items are no longer available from the vendor. Stock Status Inquiry Quantum has several on-line inquiries including the stock status inquiry. This program displays the status of an item in the main warehouse as well as across multiple warehouses. The inquiry displays reorder level, order up to qty, the qty on hand, the qty on order from vendors, the qty allocated and the computed net qty available. Inventory Reports Quantum's inventory management module provides many useful reports. Users can design their own reports through Crystal if so desired.
